Our Aim and Motivation of Positive Education
The school sees student well-being as the most important factor for students to flourish. Through the teaching of Positive Education, we believe that students will be happier, healthier, and better prepared to cope with the challenges life has to offer; to become leaders of distinction in their own lives and the lives of those around them.
Structure of Positive Education in RVHS
The Positive Education (PE) model in RVHS is based on Geelong Grammar School’s PE model. Adapted from the PERMA+ model, the Geelong Grammar Model identifies the domains in Positive Psychology where interventions can have a measurable impact on one’s well-being. Implementation of Positive Education in RVHS
The implementation of Positive Education in RVHS takes a three-pronged approach. Firstly, the school management team reviews and designs school policies based on positive education theories. Secondly, the Student Development Team (SDT) promotes a culture of Positive Education in school through regular interactions with the teachers and students. Thirdly, the SDT organises sharing sessions and workshops on Positive Education and strategies so as to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge to infuse Positive Education in their lessons.
